James Manier Obituary

James David Manier, 71, of Tipton, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 29, 2024. He was born on October 15, 1952 to his parents, William E. Manier and Phyllis J. (Reddick) Manier. James graduated from Sheridan High School in the class of 1970. He then went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy. While in the Navy, James earned a degree in Electronics. Through the years, James worked for Hewlett-Packard as a customer engineer, COBE Labs as a medical equipment engineer, and FCA Chrysler as a team leader and electrical technician. James retired in 2022.

James lived a simple life; that’s what he preferred. Everything James committed his time to was done to the best of his ability. He was a true perfectionist! He loved his family and was very dependable for them; but nature was definitely his first love. In his younger years he really enjoyed hunting; as the years went by his relationship with nature changed. He began to study animals and learned to care for them. James was a unique man and was gifted in ways few people are. Raccoons became an important part of James’ life. Watching him work with his critters, as he called them, was nothing short of remarkable. Anyone who knew James appreciated him for his kind heart and vast wisdom that spanned many different topics. He will be greatly missed!

Those left to carry on James’ legacy of love are his siblings, William R. (Pat) Manier, Garry L. Manier, Mark D. (Penny) Manier, LaDonna M. (Randy) Davis; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

James was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, William & Phyllis Manier; infant twin sons, James Leroy and James Orville; sister, Barbara E. Combs; and brother-in-law, Jerry G. Combs.

A funeral service, with full military honors, celebrating James’ life will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N.
